Yady Rivero is a curatorial museum employee with experience in collections management and exhibition planning. She is assistant registrar at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum at Florida International University (FIU) where she focuses on collections stewardship, student programs, and exhibition maintenance. Rivero received a bachelor of arts degree in art history from the University of Chicago in 2017 with a specialization in modern Latin American art and media theory. While completing her undergraduate studies, Rivero joined the Art Institute of Chicago as an Andrew W. Mellon Curatorial Fellow. Through this fellowship, Rivero cemented her interests in digital media, photography, and film, while also delivering gallery talks and writing research, not unrelated to her undergraduate thesis on San Juan-based video artist, Beatriz Santiago Muñoz. After graduation, she returned home to Miami, where she worked at the Institute of Contemporary Art as a graduate intern and assisted the Collections department as the museum underwent a shift in digital archiving.
