Museum Studies
Volume 17, no. 2 (Fall 1991)
Edited by Michael Sittenfeld
The Art Institute of Chicago Museum Studies, published twice annually, presents articles on the collections and history of the Art Institute. This issue offers articles on a variety of works in the museum. One article features a masterpiece of Italian Baroque sculpture, a recently acquired work newly attributed to Francesco Mochi; another examines the mystery surrounding the White Crucifixion by Marc Chagall. Other essays discuss a marvelous sixteenth-century montage that may have been painted by the Italian miniaturist Giulio Clovio, and an intriguing and provocative painting by the contemporary artist On Kawara.
