Enjoy some creative time sketching the Art Institute’s galleries.

For June’s session of Drop-In Sketching, we’ll be in Gallery 144, looking at Chagall’s America Windows and maquettes related to iconic Chicago public art installations by Picasso, Miró, Dubuffet, and Calder.

The program is open to all experience levels. Participants may bring their own sketchbooks and pencils for sketching. All sketching materials will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

About the Teaching Artist
Annie Lee is a Korean American painter whose work is rooted in community engagement and social connection. Born in Seoul, Korea, she studied at the Columbus College of Art and Design, earning her BFA in Illustration in 2006, and completed her master of arts in art education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2024. She founded Chicago Moms Art in 2017, a weekly painting group that offers Korean mothers a space to connect, create, and express themselves through watercolor and acrylic. She teaches as an act of giving herself to others and aims to inspire a lifelong love of art in the students she works with.
