In Philadelphia, the storied past is intertwined with new and inspired artistic energy.

In Philadelphia, American history, urban culture, and unshakeable pride come together in a rhythm of their own. This spring, join Liz McGoey, Ann S. and Samuel M. Mencoff Curator, Arts of the Americas, in the City of Brotherly Love to explore American masterpieces and celebrate the city’s historic charm and modern landscape.

We hope you’ll join us to:

  • Honor the 250th anniversary of the United States and experience the unprecedented exhibition, A Nation of Artists, a historic collaboration between the Philadelphia Art Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the Middleton Family Collection that unites three unparalleled collections of American art.
  • Discover the newly opened Calder Gardens, an oasis that unites the art of Alexander Calder with nature and architecture to invite introspection and nurture human connection.
  • Enjoy a before-hours visit to the Barnes Foundation where we will explore the acclaimed collection of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, and early modern art.
  • Tour the handcrafted home and studio of Wharton Esherick, internationally renowned artist and leader of the Studio Furniture Movement.

Exclusive visits to artist studios, private collections, and historic homes will round out our memorable weekend. Please note that our itinerary is still in production and subject to change.

This Luminary-exclusive trip is limited to 20 guests and will open for registration on November 12. To join the list of interested travelers, please reach out to [email protected].
