Pixy Liao originated her photography project Experimental Relationship in 2007, shortly after meeting her partner, Moro. It has since become a living work that grows alongside their relationship. Presenting approximately 45 images that span the duration of this ongoing series, Pixy Liao: Relationship Material—the artist’s first exhibition in Chicago—celebrates the couple’s many ways of being and working together.
Join Yechen Zhao, assistant curator, Photography and Media, in the galleries for an intimate after-hours viewing and conversation exploring this series of often humorous and playful self-portraits that reference art history, film, music, and other artifacts of popular culture.
Open exclusively to Luminary members, this event requires advance registration and occurs when the museum is closed to the public. Registered guests will be provided entry instructions in advance of the program.
