about the instructor

Nancy Chen is a printmaker interested in many forms of paper-based arts. Within her printmaking practice, she is particularly fond of making woodcut relief prints and experimenting with color. Since she began working at the Art Institute of Chicago in 2019, she’s enjoyed drawing in the galleries and organizing art-making programs inspired by the vast array of artworks on view. Nancy is associate director of Gallery Activation in the department of Interpretation.

The Art Institute of Chicago’s department of Interpretation is pleased to share a call for drawings from Drop-In Sketching participants for an installation in the Ryan Learning Center. Drawings made or started during a Drop-In Sketching program at the Art Institute between 2020–2025 are eligible for submission.
