Learn how to sew and embroider with this teen workshop Inspired by Qualeasha Wood’s autobiographical textiles, which are featured in the current exhibition Threaded Visions: Contemporary Weavings from the Collection. In the process, we’ll discuss the complexities of being a young person on the Internet and reflect on our own online identities. All supplies and materials for this program are included, and no experience is necessary.
Because this program includes a visit to the galleries, museum admission is required. Museum admission is free to Chicago teens under 18 and all children under 14.
Participants are encouraged to return on Friday or Saturday during Teen Open Studio, 11:00–3:00 in Studio C, to continue exploring textiles and finish any artworks still in progress from this session.
