“For me, drawing is an inquiry, a way of finding out—the first thing that I discover is that I do not know.” —Bridget Riley

A cream-colored page with a grid pattern contains regions of black that create both a sort of checkerboard pattern and a series of concentric circles at the same time, a prominent black circle near the center.

Saturday Studio is an art-making experience in the galleries that welcomes participants of all experience levels. Led by Chicago-based artists, the program is free with admission, and all needed materials are provided.

This iteration of Saturday Studio is inspired by the exhibition Bridget Riley: From the Artist’s Studio and invites participants to make their own Op Art–inspired drawings in response to and in conversation with Riley’s work. The program is led by visual artist and educator Danielle Wright.

If you have any questions about programming, please reach out to museum-programs@artic.edu. For questions related to accessibility accommodations, please email access@artic.edu
