Hokusai Great Wave

Under the Wave off Kanagawa (Kanagawa oki nami ura), also known as the Great Wave, from the series “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (Fugaku sanjurokkei),” 1825–1838.

Join museum educator Lucas Livingston as he explores the differences in production, quality, authenticity, and preservation of Japanese woodblock prints and examines questions around the collecting and appreciation of prints featured in Connoisseurship of Japanese Prints, an exhibition that focuses on multiple states and printings of the same images.
