Due to the weather tomorrow the 125th Anniversary Photo has been postponed for a future date.

This year marks the 125th anniversary of the museum’s historic Michigan Avenue building, constructed in 1893. To celebrate this momentous occasion, we invite you and your loved ones to join us in recreating the opening day photo from 1893. Don’t miss your chance to be a part this special morning—the photo will be added to museum’s archives, preserving this moment for another 125 years and beyond.

Following the photo, enjoy 12 hours of talks, performances, and art making throughout the museum as part of the Art Institute’s inaugural Block Party. Block Party is free for members and $10 for Illinois residents with advance registration before July 20.

Members also enjoy early access to John Singer Sargent and Chicago’s Gilded Age as part of Member Weekend Mornings.

Donate to the Annual Fund today in honor of the 125th anniversary of our historic home on Michigan Avenue.
