Courtney Smith

Courtney Smith is manager of exhibitions at Dia Art Foundation in New York. Previously, served as project manager on the Art Institute’s Exhibitions team from 2018 to 2021.

She has overseen the coordination of shows such as Gregg Bordowitz: I Wanna Be Well (2019), In a Cloud, in a Wall, in a Chair: Six Modernists in Mexico at Midcentury (2019–20), Malangatana: Mozambique Modern (2020), Ambiguous Standards Institute: An Institute within an Institute (2021), and THINKING OF YOU. I MEAN ME. I MEAN YOU. (2021–22).

Prior to joining the Art Institute, Courtney was a project manager in Exhibitions and Publications at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. She earned her master’s degree in art history with a concentration in museum studies.
