Lillian Sellati

Lillian Sellati is the Kress Interpretive Fellow in Interpretation and Arts of Greece, Rome, and Byzantium at the Art Institute of Chicago. Since joining the Art Institute in 2024, she has developed multimodal didactics to help museum visitors connect with the ancient coins displayed in the Mary and Michael Jaharis Galleries. Her prior museum experience includes roles at the Yale University Art Gallery and the Danbury Museum & Historical Society. She received her BA in classics from Cornell University and her PhD in art history from Yale University, with a focus on the movement of religious images on the silk routes between the Ancient Mediterranean and South Asia.
