Elizabeth Mescher

Elizabeth Mescher serves as the collection manager for the Architecture and Design department.

Since joining the Art Institute in 2017, she has worked on a number of exhibitions and collections projects and is deeply engaged in museum initiatives around collections care, serving as founder and co-chair of the Collections Care Steering Committee. Prior to working at the Art Institute, Elizabeth worked on many archaeological sites and has excavated in the US, Italy, and Romania.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Lake Forest College and holds a master’s degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
