Delores Taylor
Delores Taylor is the office coordinator for Protection Services at the Art Institute of Chicago. She began her career at the museum in 1995 as a security officer and transitioned to a field training officer in 2020. Over her many years in Security, Delores has worked at every one of the museum’s security stations, spent time on both the evening and day shifts, and both trained and supervised her fellow officers. In addition to her current role managing the Security office, she serves as co-chair for the museum’s Black Caucus staff affinity group and is active in the museum’s DEI initiatives. She is certified as an institutional property specialist and institutional property manager by the International Foundation for Cultural Property Protection and, outside of the museum, runs a successful e-commerce business. Always looking to brighten the day of those she encounters, Delores prides herself on her comprehensive knowledge of the museum’s inner workings and the trust and rapport she has built with visitors and fellow staff alike.
