Mia Moore
Mia Moore (she/her/they/them) is a McMullan Arts Leadership intern who recently completed a bachelor’s of arts in history with minors in social justice studies and sociology at Roosevelt University. In fall 2023, Mia defended a senior thesis focused on the feminist rhetorical activism of Civil Rights Movement figure, Fannie Lou Hamer. This year, she will begin a PhD in American studies at Indiana University Bloomington. Mia is interested in the ways that different forms of artistic expression and culture have been weaponized as political tools for soft power and used as means for resistance throughout history, especially around war times. This summer, Mia worked closely with Jill Bugajski, executive director of the Research Center.
