Shannon Burke

Shannon Burke is the associate director of marketing and revenue, Marketing and Communications, at the Art Institute of Chicago. She first came to the museum in 2015 as assistant director of Evening Associates, stewarding young members and organizing member event programs. Since joining Marketing and Communications in 2017, she has led advertising campaigns for exhibitions including Van Gogh and the Avant Garde: The Modern Landscape, The Obama Portraits, Monet and Chicago, Andy Warhol―From A to B and Back Again, and many more. Shannon is interested in finding new ways to connect with first-time visitors and longtime members alike through our campaigns and in fostering meaningful museum engagement for all.

Beyond the museum, Shannon has been a presenter at Capacity Interactive Boot Camp (2021) and is a two-time finisher of the Chicago Marathon. She is also an avid gardener who enjoys experimenting with floral design. Shannon received her BA in art history from the University of South Carolina.
