João Pernão

João Pernão is an architect and holds an MA and a PhD from the Lisbon School of Architecture, where he teaches and develops research focused on color in architecture. He is a member of the Light and Colour Research Group and the ArcHC-3D Heritage Research Group, both based at the Lisbon School of Architecture.

Pernão was a founder of APCor (Portuguese Colour Association, a member of the AIC [International Colour Association]), and he is a member of ECD (Environmental Colour Design Group [AIC]), CGCE (Colour Group on Colour Education [AIC] and ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites). He coordinates the MEDCROMA-Colour Measuring and Analysis, a LABCOR module.

He has focused on color in architecture since 2003, and he has significant experience in developing color studies for architectural projects, having presented papers at the most important Portugeuse and international conferences on the subjects of light, color, and architecture.
