Emily Benedict

Emily Benedict is the associate vice president for Capital Programs at the Art Institute of Chicago, where she oversees all aspects of the museum’s major construction projects, from concept through completion. Since stepping into her role in 2018, Emily has led multiple gallery renovations and building renewal projects ranging in scale from collection rotations to historic-building structural preservation.

Prior to joining the Art Institute, Emily managed multiple museum construction projects in Boston and Chicago, including the Modern Wing of the Art Institute in 2009 as the museum’s owner representative. She completed her BA at the University of Wisconsin and her MA in Museum Studies at the University of Leicester, UK.
