Diane Rousseau is a conservator in private practice, based on the campus of Mass MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts. Among her most recent projects is the treatment of the Hartwell Memorial Window upon its acquisition by the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work includes conservation on windows now at the Worcester Art Museum, the MFA Boston, the Isabella Stewart Gardiner Museum, and the Corning Museum of Glass, as well as windows in many private collections. Her studio also treats glass vessels, porcelain, and related vitreous materials. She is a Professional Associate of the American Institute of Conservation (Objects Specialty Group) and has published in both ICON and ICOM-CC (Glass and Ceramics Group). Since completing her postgraduate studies in 1987, at Vauxhall College in London, Rousseau has continuously pursued coursework in both conservation and advanced glass fusing in order to learn and develop new techniques in loss compensation.
