Pérside Omena Ribeiro

Pérside Omena Ribeiro, a conservator-restorer with a degree in drawing from the Federal University of Pernambuco, began her career in conservation at the Museum of the State of Pernambuco—MEPE forty-five years ago. She has done postgraduate work at the Center for Conservation and Restoration of Movable Cultural Heritage—Cecor/EBA/Federal University of Minas Gerais—MG/Brazil and in physical-chemical analysis applied to artwork conservation at the Institute of Physics of the Polytechnic University of Milan. Omena Ribeiro is currently a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, concentrating on conservation and rehabilitation. She is a managing partner of Grifo Diagnóstico e Preservação de Bens Culturais Ltda., which has been working in the conservation-restoration area for twenty years, providing services to various institutions in Brazil.
