Marin Sarvé-Tarr

Marin Sarvé-Tarr is an assistant curator of painting and sculpture at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art where she contributes to exhibitions including Joan Mitchell (2021–23) and collection presentations including Afterimages: Echoes of the 1960s from the Fisher and SFMOMA Collections (2022). She has co-organized such upcoming and recent exhibitions as Frank Bowling: The New York Years 1966–1975 (2022–23) and Sadie Barnette, SPACE/TIME (2022) for SFMOMA’s Bay Area Walls series of artist commissions. She holds a PhD in art history from the University of Chicago and was previously an Andrew W. Mellon Curatorial Research Fellow at the Art Institute of Chicago where she researched the surrealist collection and contributed to Matisse Paintings, Works on Paper, Sculpture, and Textiles at the Art Institute of Chicago.
