Andrzej Dajnowski
Andrzej Dajnowski, PhD, is the founder and director of Conservation of Sculpture and Objects Studio, Inc., a world-renowned conservation studio. Dajnowski started his study of conservation at the age of fifteen in his native Poland and eventually immigrated to the United States to pursue postgraduate studies at Harvard University. Then he worked as a conservator at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, DC. He eventually moved to Chicago where he worked for the Chicago Park District and the Art institute of Chicago as a sculpture conservator. During his 10 years with the Park District and the museum, he conserved approximately 60 outdoor monuments and sculptures owned by the Park District and the Ferguson Monument Fund. In late 1990s he started working full-time as private conservator and opened CSOS (Conservation of Sculpture and Objects Studio, Inc). He holds PhD from Copernicus University in Poland and is a pioneer in the use of laser cleaning in the US and around the world. Learn more about CSOS.
