Jonathan Kinkley

Jonathan Kinkley is an arts advancement professional as well as a curator and writer with a scholarly focus on video games and new media art. He is currently Senior Director of Advancement at the University of Illinois Chicago’s College of Architecture, Design, and the Arts; owner and curator of Chicago Gamespace; and co-founder and board member of VGA Gallery. He has previously served in development leadership roles at the Art Institute of Chicago; the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago; and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Recent curatorial projects include The 50th Anniversary of the Magnavox Odyssey鬼鎮 (Ghosttown) Spirit Simulator, The Sketch Journals of Jordan Mechner, Nom Nom: 40 Years of Pac-Man Design and History, and Chicago New Media: 1973–1992. His writing has been published in Leonardo, Time Out Chicago, The A.V. Club, and Newcity, and by the Illinois Game Developers Association. He has spoken at the Chicago Design Museum, VGA Gallery, Gallery 400, GDEX, UIC, York University, Columbia University, and the City University of New York.
