Joann Podkul-Murphy

Joann Podkul-Murphy is interim president of the Southeast Chicago Historical Society housed in the Calumet Park Fieldhouse. A lifelong resident of Chicago’s Southeast Side, she worked for the Chicago Public Schools for 40 years as a social studies teacher and administrator at James H. Bowen High School and is now retired. She was married for 33 years to Kevin Patrick Murphy, author, playwright and videographer, until his passing in 2019.
