Aidan Fitzpatrick is a photographer and teaching artist whose path begins with a love of looking closely. Her deep appreciation for the creations of others found a home at the Art Institute of Chicago, where she led Imaging’s team of photographers until 2022, dedicating her time to photographing three-dimensional art objects, documenting exhibitions, creating portraits, and capturing behind-the-scenes moments at the museum. She also developed training materials for the photography team and explored new imaging technologies.
Aidan joined the Art Institute in 2012 as the digital imaging technician at the Flaxman Library and became a photographer in the Imaging Department in 2014. Prior to her time here, Aidan received a BFA in photography from Columbia College Chicago. She has taught photography to young people throughout Chicago with CCAP’s Arts Integration Project, including at Jones College Prep High School, Lill Street Art Center, After School Matters at Gallery37, and Marwen.
