JB Fry

Jb Fry

JB Fry is a McMullan Arts Leadership intern and a recent graduate of School of the Art Institute of Chicago. They are a conceptual designer that fabricates objects and creates immersive installations. In school, Fry studied fibers and material studies, sculpture, and 3D animation. Their interdisciplinary practice navigates issues of gender, sexuality, and autonomy. In a recent work, they animated a short-film that archives the narratives of artists directly impacted by HIV/ AIDS in the U.S. during the 1980s to present. JB was an artist in residence this Fall at Ox-bow School of Art and Artists’ Residency (Saugatuck, MI). During the 2021–22 academic year, Fry will work closely with Samantha Grassi and Leticia Pardo in Exhibition Design.
