About this artwork
An American sculptor of Polish birth, Elie Nadelman lived in Paris between 1904 and 1914 and was closely involved with the avant-garde. He immigrated to the United States at the outbreak of Word War I, setting up a studio in the Riverdale neighborhood of the Bronx, where he worked for the rest of his life.
