About this artwork
This print is part of a series called Impromptu, in which Onchi Kōshirō explored how chance affected his compositions. Most of the works in this group feature an impression of a string that was dipped in pigment and then allowed to fall naturally. Here, the string was the last element to be printed and was not part of his original design.
