About this artwork
A Neapolitan painter known as ‘Luca fa presto” (“Luke, paint quickly”), Giordano was also facile and rapid draftsman. He worked in Naples, Florence, Venice, and Rome in the orbit of the great Baroque artists Ribera and Pietro da Cortona.
