Inscriptions

Inscription (translation): Among flowers there is one named orchid. Its color is purple; its leaves protect the flower from the winds, Like a red bird among the many layered mountain peaks, It is difficult to perceive the dawn. Therefore purple orchid, which has not seen the sun in Chinwang Pu's list of all the flowers, When I saw this flower, I used its color to sketch this supplement to the floral history. Written by imperial command in the peaches [third] month of the quiwei year [1763] of the Qianlong [emperor]
