About this artwork
Yoakum had no doubts as to the existence of flying saucers. In response to Whitney Halstead’s question about whether he had ever flown in an airplane, Yoakum replied, “Yes, I did—but only once and that was enough! I was in Los Angeles and decided to take a plane back to Chicago, well, when we got over Arizona one of them flying saucers came down and buzzed us! Well, the pilot of that plane landed and we got off and all of us took a train. And I’ve not taken a plane since!”
