Bernard Arthur Behrend (1875–1932), by 1932, born Switzerland, later lived in Cincinnati, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, Boston, and Wellesley Hills, MA; bequeathed to his widow Mrs. Margaret Behrend (born Margaret Plummer Chase, later Mrs. Dudley Phelps Sanford [married 1944, divorced late 1940s], 1895–1982), Wellesley Hills, MA, 1932 [later known as the Dr. and Mrs. Dudley Phelps Sanford Collecton, CA]; sold to the Art Institute of Chicago 1946.
