About this artwork
In Untitled 2, Zheng Chongbin presents a bold juxta-position of fluid and solid forms, the result of his experimentation with black ink, white acrylic, water, and rice paper. The materials were fused together to create this work.
Zheng trained as a traditional figure painter at the China Academy of Art. Since the 1980s, he has been known for his experimental approach to integrating the Chinese ink-painting tradition with Western abstraction.
