About this artwork

The Education for Development Symposium was organized by the Botswana Society. Formed in 1969 as a non-governmental organization, the Botswana Society was headquartered at the National Museum and Art Gallery for its first 30 years and organized numerous lectures and symposia. It also published books and an annual journal, Botswana Notes and Records, that is still active today. This poster bearing Medu’s name, and the fact that both of these entities were active at the museum, evidences Medu’s partnership with and integration within local Botswanan institutions.
