About this artwork
These everyday kitchen tools demonstrate design’s potential to make routine tasks easier. Entrepreneur Sam Farber was inspired to make products for all types of hands based on a single pair: those of his wife Betsey, whose arthritis turned simple kitchen activities into daily challenges. Working with Smart Design, a New York–based creative studio, Farber founded OXO and developed the original 15-piece Good Grips collection after extensive research into functionality, ergonomics, and user feedback.
