"Street Scape" Office Design for Weisberg/Klein

Date:

1980

Artist:

Stuart Cohen
American, born 1942

About this artwork

In this project for a Chicago chemical company, Stuart Cohen proposed a new idea for the workstation as a kind of “house” (home away from home) with desks and other furniture that aggregated together to form streets in an office landscape. The plan references the hierarchies of the urban environment through a playful, postmodern narrative and visual metaphors.
