About this artwork

These ornamented utensils extend Bless’s investigations into shape-shifting objects and ways of modifying eating habits. Each piece features a detachable jewelry chain that can be worn around the user’s wrist, transforming a meal into a hybrid ritual of consumption and adornment. The piece comes from the Bless collection No. 42 Plädoyer der Jetztzeit, which translates to “plea for the present time.” The phrase speaks to the designers’ desire to create objects that encourage mindfulness in daily life.
