About this artwork
Roszak studied at the Art Institute in the mid-1920s and later worked as an instructor of lithography in 1927–28. Many of his early lithographs combined portraits with elements probably derived from popular motifs on textiles and other decorative arts. This lithograph portrays Roszak’s daughter seated at a table next to miniature sculpture of a violinist kissing a nude woman.
