About this artwork

After producing the conceptual models, SO-IL began to explore how the circulation could be contained in the perimeter of the gallery space. This approach led to the physical act of wrapping the forms to unite the building and blend the project into the overall landscape of both the Kukje campus and Sogyeok-dong neighborhood. In these three models, they explored different possibilities, contrasting the stiff and soft properties of the mesh material. These iterations also begin to suggest an exterior feel for the gallery; while not the final solution, they show the range of ideas embedded within the completed design.
