The commander of the southern group of German forces on the eastern front, General Manstein, has fled with his staff to Romania. Inscribed on the sign: To Romania; To the USSR Manstein heads west, Manstein doesn’t want to rest. He rushes directly to Jassy, But he can’t sit still in Jassy. The transit passenger moans: “Where shall I run? What a small world!”
