About this artwork

After a friend suggested to Tatyana Grosman that she approach the poet Frank O’Hara for a possible project for ULAE, she went to see the artist Larry Rivers. Coincidentally, O’Hara happened to be visiting Rivers that very day. With Grosman’s encouragement, the two men starting working on Stonesimmediately. The project took two years to complete and became ULAE’s first publication.
