About this artwork

Florentine by birth, Stefano della Bella worked extensively for the Medici family there, although he also worked in Rome and Paris between 1638 and 1650. He was a prolific graphic artist, creating over 1,000 etchings, mostly from his imagination. This is one of a series of prints he made of the Medici gardens.
