About this artwork
Silversmith Arthur Pulos continued the Arts and Crafts–inspired practice of metalworking after World War II. This beverage server unites traditional materials such as sterling silver and ebony, but lacks any of the visible hammermarks associated with handicraft; instead, the smooth, undecorated surface suggests Pulos’s training in industrial metalwork.
