About this artwork

This print was developed by Vera Berdich during a summer spent teaching etching at Ox-Bow. Inspired by the surrounding natural environment in Michigan, as well as by her childhood memories of time spent in the wilds of Wisconsin, the artist used leaves to make impressions in the soft ground of the plate.
