#1 Rise of The Great Wave
Beginning September 5, this rarely seen icon of the collection will once again be on view. Like all of our prints, The Great Wave is susceptible to light damage and so can only be displayed every five years. Find it through January 6 in the Andō Gallery (109), near the recently acquired Mount Fuji and the Miho Pine Forest by Soga Shōhaku.
#5 O’Keeffe’s Experiments
Join exhibition co-curator Annelise K. Madsen on September 5 at 6:00 or September 6 at 1:00 for a member-exclusive talk examining the energetic experimentations at the heart of Georgia O’Keeffe: “My New Yorks,” the first exhibition to seriously examine the artist’s paintings, drawings, and pastels of New York City’s urban landscape. Registration is required.
#6 Exploring Art through Movement
On September 20 at 2:00, engage in guided improvisational movement inspired by American landscape painting and the paintings of Georgia O’Keeffe. We’ll find inspiration in the galleries before returning to Studio C in the Ryan Learning Center, where we’ll translate our experiences with art into dance.
#10 Art and Legacy
The Ryan Learning Center is thrilled to present Family Day on November 16, a day of art making, storytelling, and more. Drop in to this family-friendly event, titled We Carry History, anytime from 11:00 to 3:00, and explore how artists reimagine legacy through three exhibitions: Jeremy Frey: Woven, Germane Barnes: Columnar Disorder, and After the End of the World: Pictures from Panafrica.
