Disruptions in a natural process can appear to be beneficial, however it is never replaced to its original state; thus permanently affecting the course of a series of consecutive events. Certain disruptions to the natural process may significantly decrease the potential of subsequent events.
There are four stages in the sculpture. I revived a tree trunk from its initial decaying position; next I chose to continue to damage the healthy tree trunk. Finally, I repaired all of my surface manipulation with copious amounts of frail wine corks, a poor substitute for wood. Through this, I am able to create a rather contradicting process; replacing the disturbances created in each previous step. In an attempt to restore the disruptions I have created on this decaying tree, I remove it from its natural course, and permanently change its destiny. |
