Studio Practice: Gif animation
Technical Objective: Students will learn to create a simple HTML page
and upload it to their SAIC web space.
HTML Basics: Using simpletext (basic tags, links, email) , information architecture/folder hierarchies, using fetch/uploading.
Naming conventions to observe: no spaces, eight characters or less, use underscore mark to denote spaces (as opposed to a dash), use proper file extensions (.jpg, .gif, .html, .mov, etc.)
Download 2 images of food. Create a root folder called "yourname_html."
Use a separate folder for your Photoshop files if you choose to edit these
images at all. Inside this folder make these subfolders: "docs"
and "images." Place your two final images of food in the "images"
See picture at left for organizational help.
Tutorial 2: Create two linking pages, an index page (index.html), and a page devoted to fast food (menu.html). This second page must be placed in your subfolder titled "docs" and linked to the index page using a relative path (docs/menu.html). Each page will contain a title, minimum 10 words of body text, one image and one link.
Tutorial 3: Uploading sample web files to the SAIC server using FETCH.
