The Mission

We all know that network television depends on the money of its sponsors to stay afloat. So pure artistic integrity is impossible. Appeal to the masses is the primary concern in this model, because the advertising money goes where there are more viewers (and viewers with more money). But the advent of cable television revised that situation somewhat by charging viewers as well as of advertisers, thereby lessening the dependency on those advertisers. Now with the advent of the television show on DVD, the tide has changed again. Now we can buy or rent our favorite shows and bypass the advertisers altogether. Now we can mainline our drug of choice by watching entire seasons without having to wait for a schedueled marathon. This museum is intended to document this moment in television history, as well as provide a very detailed picture of my personal tastes. My hope is that one day television will be made solely for its audience and our favorite shows will no longer be cancelled because of bad time slots.
