This half-hour sitcom seems like a standard, family-friendly show. It did end up dying on ABC's TGIF. But several seasons had brilliant writers that made this show stand out. It's one of the only shows about a heterosexual teenager that didn't shy away from homoerotic undertones used to describe the intensity of Cory and Shawn's friendship. There's no implication that they are really gay, but when they fight, it's like breaking up.Their male friendship is more like a female one.
