Haitian & American Artist Exchange

Sue Frame

Sue Frame was born and raised in the mid-west United States. She works under the title of sculptor even though her work stretches into many different mediums.

Trained as a welder she pays close attention to the innate material quality. Whether it is the pen or duct tape. Sue uses each medium to create a moment that expresses the need for a kinder world. At times this moment is a private experience found by chance. Other times the work forms an immersive environment for the viewer to see, touch, and smell. There is an awareness that life is a collection of moments in each viewer's life. The potency of each moment helps to embed them as memories. This becomes the life of the work and its message.

Sue is currently researching the world of Solar Passive Architecture in hopes of creating "Outsider Architecture" within a collaborative group of 4 artists and contractors. The ideal is to create a second structure that is opposite to an existing barn/living space. The two buildings together create a full home separated and integrated within nature. This house will store and be heated by the sun's energy. Located in Northern Illinois most of the materials used to build this house will be bought from local small businesses.
Alternative building materials, such as, sea-land containers are being explored as an option in the building process.
The drawing is one brainstorm sketch for the structure. A stacked formation will be applied in the final design.
